Rachel Jump (b. Chicago, Illinois, 1991) is an artist whose work explores the fluid nature of the autobiography. Drawing from memory, performance, and metaphor, she creates black and white images that examine notions of family and identity.  

She received her BFA with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014. Her photographs have been exhibited internationally and were a part of the Midwest Photography Project at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago from 2017-2021. Her prints are held in the permanent collection at the RISD Museum in addition to private collections.

Rachel’s work has also been featured in various print and online publications, including Booooooom, SHOTS Magazine, DIE ZEIT, Der Greif, Museé Magazine, and The Photo Review. In 2020, Rachel was recognized as one of the “Top 30 Under 30 Women Photographers" by ARTPIL. She was selected as a finalist for the Lucie Foundation Scholarship, a Visionary Project Award finalist for the Film Photo Award and named "Discovery of the Year" and "Best New Talent" by Analog Sparks in 2025.

In 2024, her work was featured in a two-person exhibition, COUNTER/PART, at the University of New Mexico School of Architecture + Planning. Her project, Everyone is Icarus, was the subject of a solo exhibition at SRO Photo Gallery in Lubbock, Texas in 2025, and at Nob Hill Little Bear in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2026. Rachel is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts.

Rachel currently resides in New Mexico with Daniel W. Coburn and their five dogs.
